Why test the air, not just what you can see
By the time mould is visible, spores have usually already spread through the air in the room, and often into neighbouring rooms too. Airborne spores are invisible to the naked eye but can still cause the same health problems as visible mould.
Testing tells you the spore count in the air, which is the clearest way to measure how serious a mould problem actually is.

How our testing works
We use a combination of methods depending on what you need to know:
- Air sampling, to measure the concentration of mould spores in the air
- Surface swabs, to identify mould species on walls, furniture or fabric
- Protein swabs, to check how active the mould growth is
- All samples are sent for lab analysis, with results explained in plain English
When you need mould testing
Testing is useful in a few different situations:
- Before treatment, to understand the scale of the problem
- After treatment, to confirm the mould has actually been removed
- For insurance claims, where you need documented proof of the damage
- Where a tenant or resident disputes whether mould is present or how serious it is
- As evidence for your Awaab's Law written summary, if you're a social landlord
