We use only the latest, industry-leading tools and equipment to carry out our fire damage cleaning services in Waverly.

Our team of highly skilled professionals in fire restoration use the latest cleaning tools and advanced technologies to handle every aspect of the aftermath of a fire. We take great pride in our ability to support you throughout the entire  process, from the initial evaluation to the final cleaning stages.

At ICE Cleaning, we recognise the distress caused by fire damage and the urgency of swift restoration, so we have developed an efficient three-step process that utilises exclusive equipment and solutions to deliver quick and effective results. Here's how it works:

  1. First, we sanitise the smoke-damaged area to eliminate any contaminants and ensure a clean surface.
  2. Next, we use modern industrial solutions and tools to completely remove every trace of smoke and fully restore the property.
  3. Finally, we provide detailed documentation to create a comprehensive record that is easy to understand and will assist you with any future insurance claims or legal requirements.

What does home insurance cover for a fire?

Most home insurance policies include fire insurance automatically. This coverage will protect your property against damage and losses caused by fire and smoke. It will cover the cost of cleaning, repairing, rebuilding, and replacing any damaged structures or items.

If your home insurance policy includes contents insurance, your personal belongings are covered for replacement or purchase, depending on the extent of the damage.

It is important to contact your provider or review your policy documents to ensure you understand the extent of your coverage. Providers offer various levels of coverage for different prices, so it is crucial to speak to someone if you have any questions or concerns.

It is important to note that not all properties will be covered by home insurance policies, and certain claims may become void depending on how the fire started. Here are some examples of invalidated claims:

  • If you have vacated your property for more than 30 to 60 days, you may not be able to claim for fire damage
  • If you failed to install fire or smoke detectors, or they stopped working before the fire started, your claim could be affected drastically
  • If you failed to inform your provider that you are conducting home renovations, your claim could be affected if a fire occurs
  • Smokers must inform their provider that they or anyone in the house smokes. Lying about this could affect a claim due to a fire caused by cigarettes
  • A claim that concerns arson may not be covered due to the risk of fraudulent claims, but providers that cover arson will investigate the fire extensively

We cover all areas in the county of Surrey, including:

  • Guildford
  • Surrey Heath
  • Woking
  • Tandridge
  • Mole Valley
  • Epsom
  • Ewell
  • Runnymede
  • Reigate
  • Banstead
  • Spelthorne

The risks of smoke and soot odours

After a fire has occurred on your property, you may detect the smell of smoke lingering everywhere, even where the fire did not occur. When fire burns, it releases black smoke, which is incomplete combustion, creating carbon and carbon monoxide.

The smoke can spread to all nearby surfaces, embedding tiny soot particles into porous objects. Soot particles are smaller than red blood cells, so they can invade even the smallest of spaces, like wood or walls. The soot particles collect on a surface, accumulating into a layer of black dust - soot or creosote.

These particles contain chemicals and toxins such as sulphur dioxide, tar, arsenic, methane, and carbon monoxide. They are easily disturbed when touched and can quickly invade your body by just inhaling.

These particles can line the inside of your lungs and enter your bloodstream, which can cause premature death if enough are inhaled. In addition, you could be at risk of:

  • Lung cancer
  • Bladder cancer
  • Oesophageal cancer
  • Asthma
  • Bronchitis
  • Respiratory diseases
