Kent County Council required the expertise of our Dewpoint-accredited technicians here at ICE Cleaning to address a severe mould infestation within a residential property.

The affected areas included the kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom, posing health risks and compromising the habitability of the premises.

The Challenge:

The project needed a comprehensive mould remediation and drying programme to restore the property to a safe and habitable condition.

The affected areas were affected by a severe mould infestation that attacked the walls and ceilings. This posed a challenge to our technicians because of the hard-to-reach colonies, requiring ladders and expert technology to clean these areas.

We executed our meticulous nine-step process to achieve optimal results, employing cutting-edge technology and adhering to regulatory standards.

The Solution: Mould Remediation and Drying

A thorough assessment of the property was conducted to identify the extent of the mould infestation and devise an appropriate remediation strategy. We did this by using hydrometers that measured the humidity levels in affected rooms.

Upon analysing the results, the entire property was ventilated to facilitate airflow and aid in the drying process, mitigating moisture retention conducive to mould growth.

After this procedure, high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) air scrubbers were utilised to filter leftover airborne contaminants, including mould spores, ensuring improved indoor air quality.

Following this, a HEPA-rated vacuum was utilised to remove mould spores and debris from surfaces, preventing further contamination. Afterwards, we applied ICE SHIELD® - our antimicrobial solution - to surfaces to eliminate existing mould colonies and prevent future growth.

Ultra-low volume (ULV) fogging technology was utilised to disperse disinfectants and antimicrobial agents evenly throughout the premises, targeting concealed mould sources and achieving comprehensive coverage.

Industrial-grade dehumidifiers were then strategically deployed to extract excess moisture from the environment, promoting rapid drying and inhibiting mould growth.

Throughout the remediation process, we worked closely with Kent County Council to ensure strict adherence to Awaab's Law, prioritising the health and safety of residents and upholding the integrity of council properties.

Outcome:

By executing our nine-step remediation process and using state-of-the-art technology, we successfully remediated the mould infestation within the Kent County Council property.

The residence was restored to a safe and habitable condition, reducing health risks associated with mould exposure and protecting the health of occupants.

We remain committed to delivering exceptional mould remediation and dehumidification services, tailored to the unique needs of our clients.

Through collaborative partnerships with organisations like Kent County Council and strict adherence to regulatory standards, we maintain our reputation as industry leaders in mould remediation, ensuring the health and safety of the communities we serve.
