Qualified Oil Spill Cleaning Services

We guarantee an excellent level of service and outstanding results every time.

We’re able to provide a cleaning solution like no other for clients in Sevenoaks.

When there is an oil spill, you can rely on ICE Cleaning to provide quick and efficient services. Our skilled experts have received specialised training and can address diverse issues. This includes oil spills on concrete, tarmac, hard surfaces, polluted soil, hydraulic oil, petrol, and gasoline.

You must take immediate action and only attempt to contain an oil leak if you have the required PPE and training. Oil is a hazardous material that affects not just the environment but also humans, animals, and individuals. Moreover, it is highly flammable and, after repeated exposure, might be detrimental to your well-being.

Our oil spill cleaning solutions are second to none.

As part of our treatment to fully extract oil from the site, our skilled cleaners will employ industrial-grade equipment and chemical techniques to eliminate all contaminants. We always put the well-being of our clients first, assuring that any risks, including potentially hazardous materials, are resolved before we depart.

After completion, our professionals use the TORIK Cleaning system to disinfect the affected area. We remain on-site and remove any dangerous substances until the outcome meets your expectations. Depending on the extent of the spill and the results of our site survey, the process and cost of the job may change.

Why do domestic oil tanks leak?

Homeowners in remote counties commonly have domestic heating oil tanks to independently heat their homes. However, these tanks are prone to leakage due to poor maintenance and a lack of professional supervision. If you have a heating oil tank, keep it properly maintained or consider switching to a cleaner energy source to protect the local ecosystem.

The environment is at risk because of the location of these tanks, which may pollute the local water supply and soil. To detect leaks early, you should regularly inspect your tank and conduct a general check-up. The occurrence of any of the following might mean that your tank is leaking:

  • Your tank's oil level has fallen considerably
  • You smell burning or hot oil
  • Your water tastes oily or appears to be
  • Your tank's surroundings are coated with an oily residue
  • Local plant life is discoloured or dying around the tank

You are responsible for stopping maintaining your oil tank and preventing any spills. Immediately contact your district council, insurance provider, water provider, and a reliable oil spill clean-up company if your tank leaks oil.

How to act when oil spills

Your council may recommend whom to call to fix the leak, but ultimately you are responsible. When a spill occurs, you must follow these steps:

  • Ventilate the area the oil tank is in if it's an enclosed space
  • Keep your skin and clothing away from the oil
  • Make sure your hands are clean before you smoke, eat, or drink anything if you handled the oil
  • Determine the leak's cause
  • If you can, place a metal bucket underneath the oil leak
  • Use absorbent materials to control the oil leak if it is safe to do so and you are qualified
  • To determine how much oil may have leaked, check the tank readings
  • Never use water or chemicals to clean up the spill on your own
  • Place any contaminated objects or fabrics in quarantine
  • Keep track of the damage and any potential insurance payments you may need to make

We cover all areas in the Sevenoaks District in Kent, including:

  • Ash
  • Brasted
  • Chipstead
  • Crockenhill
  • Edenbridge
  • Fawkham
  • Four Elms
  • Hever

  • New Ash Green
  • Otford
  • Penhurst
  • Swanley
  • Underriver
  • Westerham

Who is liable for an oil spill?

Whether it is a workplace accident or a personal oil tank, the person responsible for inadequate maintenance or poor health and safety is accountable for any spills.

If the leak happened at work, the employer might be held liable. Poor health and safety procedures, improperly managed vehicles, manufacturing equipment, or storage tanks might all be to blame for a leak at work. The council may fine you, and any impacted neighbours could file a lawsuit against you depending on the circumstance and alleged carelessness.

You are responsible for paying for any repairs and oil cleaning if you own a tank that leaks. You must inform the local council, water provider, and oil clean-up professionals in accordance with the law. You should also notify your insurance company if your heating tank is covered.
